'Folie' Urban Sculpture

Formulated as the interactive play between a cube and a cylinder, this geometric decomposition results in series of spaces layer onto the sloping site.
Concrete volumes represent the cylinder as a dynamic and fragmented plate which collided onto a steel cube breaking it into three layers that represent the theory of the ‘nine cubes’. The architectural spaces achieved are a mixture of wide-open and intimate spaces aimed either towards views of downtown Los Angeles or the top of the Hollywood Hills. The architectural elements which frame these views are remains of the geometric decomposition.
Materials: concrete, steel laminates and columns, steel mesh plate and treads.
