Ritz Carlton Penthouse

Ritz Carloton Miami Beach Penthouse
Ritz Carlton Miami Beach Penthouse

This penthouse takes the space of the old auditorium of an old hospital building that was transform into a residential complex by Ritz Carlton Miami Beach. The vast space was softened and proportionated to a residential scale by creating an interior garden that allows the spaces to be organized around it. The garden features hanging plants and a swing, above a reflecting pool. The garden becomes the heart of the Lake House residence. The main level hosts the social areas distributed all along the facade overlooking the lake and the Miami Beach skyline. Towards the center of the building, across the garden are distributed the service areas. A sculptural black steel staircase connects the second floor where all the private areas enjoy both: the expanse views to the outside and the intimate views to the garden.

Interior volumes jutting inside the space further define the design. Each volume stands as a suspended sculptural wood structure connected by an elegant hallway running along the gardens. The flow of the spaces is emphasized by the natural progression of filtered light. Noble materials respond to this hierarchy making stones, marbles, wood, bronze, handblown glass, steel and fabrics work in unison to create this home.
