I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with over 20 years of experience, whose work spans photography, light sculptures, and furniture design, grounded in a background in architecture and interior design. My artistic journey began with a transformative experience during an immersive residency in the magical islands of Hawaii. The vast and captivating landscape stirred something deep within me, compelling me to explore the concepts of transformation, identity, and reflection—ideas that empower the human soul and now form the foundation of my work. In furniture design, my passion stems from a desire to create functional art that balances aesthetics with practicality. My pieces are crafted as functional sculptures that defy conventional expectations, gradually revealing their multifaceted nature as users interact with them. Each design is meant to provoke thought and curiosity, transforming everyday interactions into a journey of exploration. Similarly, my light sculptures merge photography and sculpture through three-dimensional elements that inspire viewers to engage both physically and emotionally. A recurring theme in my work is the reconnection with the subconscious, challenging Jungian archetypes. My art serves as a bridge between the familiar and the unknown, encouraging a deeper exploration of our environment and the objects within it. I aim to challenge traditional views by creating works that blend practicality with creativity in innovative ways. My influences range from Fauvism, Surrealism, and Abstract Art to the experimental techniques of Italian Futurists and Dadaists, significantly shaping my approach to serendipity and experimentation. I draw inspiration from the Light and Space movement, as well as Op Art and Kinetic Art. These diverse influences drive me to uncover beauty in the unexpected, transforming reality into something entirely new and evocative. My creative process is fueled by a deep admiration for both classical notions of beauty—emphasizing symmetry, proportion, and balance—and modern explorations of asymmetry, dynamism, and contrast. Manipulating form and light is central to shaping each piece. While photography offers an escape to create purely for the sake of beauty and self-gratification, furniture design requires a careful balance to achieve both function and comfort. I envision and design interactive, experimental, and sophisticated pieces that are both functional and durable. Serendipity plays a significant role in my creative process, with unexpected moments guiding my artistic choices and leading to unplanned discoveries that enrich the final outcome.
